Mitigating Environmental Risk

The Trillium P21 Global Equity strategy (Global Equity Fund), launched in September 1999, combines a long-term investment approach with an environmental mandate to select companies that consider environmental risk and take action on opportunities.

While adhering to our firm-wide Environmental, Social, and Governance risk-based negative screens and materiality assessments, the Global Equity Fund is managed to specific environmental criteria. Since inception, the Global Equity Fund has excluded fossil fuels. The Global Equity Fund’s ESG criteria reflect the strategy’s overarching Principles for Investment and were inspired by the concept of an Ecological Footprint as well as The Natural Step, a sustainability framework.
